The need for expansion of the access to reliable supply sources and maintaining the requisite safety and performance standards needs to be closely regulated, especially in the emerging economies. Different industry structures had been adopted by different utilities to address the customized needs of their respective industry and social environments. We have seen and were actively engaged in the process of a transformation from a fully-integrated to a custom-unbundled industry structure in Sri Lanka.
